Here Comes August

I’ve always had this feeling about August, like it’s leading up to something. Studying astrology, I realize that it leads up to my twelfth house and that makes sense to me. I would always begin a new journal in August, one that would take many other shapes over September, October, then November, and into the next year. It started with diaries, in depth analysis of the people I was into and how I would plan to date them; over time, it evolved into my notes for everything interesting I noticed around me. The picture I was painting every August kept getting larger and larger.

I was also particularly fond of the first few months of the school year. I loved back-to-school shopping, being forced into a different schedule, and all of the school-pride events. Even as school became more somber, leading up to finals in December, then there would be the holidays. The last thing I look forward to after the post-August rush it my own birthday, in February. I’ve never really liked winter though, so I rarely know how to celebrate it.

Summer is sleepy, but I start to wake up in August. I start to get excited for things, really. This is why I enjoy beginning things in August, so that maybe these projects can ride the wave of nostalgia into my day-to-day life. It wasn’t my plan to begin my very first horoscopes as peoples’ personal reader in the month of August 2021, right as Leo season begun. The universe just happened to agree.

After doing my very first Your Personal Reader horoscope, I thought that I should probably write my own horoscope too. August has five major events in 2021, including:

  • Sun in Leo Squaring Uranus in Taurus (August 6th)
    • For me, this means that I am dealing with a change in my perception of self relating to my ability to accept financial compensation for helping my community. To accept myself as a proper tarot & astrology reader, I must communicate my needs and desires. This will provide me the foundation necessary to benefit the community in the way I’m destined to.
  • Mercury moving into Virgo (August 11th)
    • For me, this opens up my ability to do readings for others. I will be more connected to my spirituality and will be able to communicate those thoughts more thoroughly with others. My business will benefit from this transit, since I am in the prime of my spiritual callings.
  • Venus moving into Libra (August 16th)
    • For me, self love peaks at this time of year. I will feel strongly connected to my sense of self, and will find balance in who I am & who I want to be. It will be easier for me to display affection, which will improve the environment around me.
  • Uranus in Taurus going Retrograde (August 19th)
    • For me, I will realize new perspectives of how I can receive money. I will not have a one dimensional perception of wealth anymore; I will realize how powerful my skills are. My wealth will be directly related to helping others and others helping me.
  • Sun moving into Virgo & Double Full Moon in Aquarius (August 22nd)
    • For me, my ability to express my spiritual awakening as art will be optimal. It will be the most important time for me to express my authentic self unapologetically. If I hear my intuition, it’s best to follow it at this time. I will feel a sense of ease going through each day, which exists to help create room for new art to be made.

I’ve recently started practicing my horoscope writing using my friends, family, and coworkers birth charts as references. I use both whole sign houses and tropical aspects to write my horoscopes, meaning that I mostly use the rising sign to determine what might happen.

For example, my manager (Scorpio rising) at work is relocating and I’ve been working with my replacement manager (Leo rising) for about a month now. Like I said earlier, the next transit that will strongly affect us is the Sun in Leo Squaring Uranus in Taurus on August 6th. For my Scorpio rising manager, this means that the Sun (sense of self/identity) in her 10th house (Leo) is in a conflicting aspect with Uranus (awakenings/change) in her 7th house (Taurus). This makes sense, because she’ll be moving far away at this time, changing both her career and her possible relationships. In addition, these houses are 3 houses apart, meaning the 3rd house (communication, siblings, and neighbors) can help her achieve her goals. This is interesting because she’ll live closer to her siblings by making this move. The 7th house is specifically relationships that lead towards marriage, so this difficult decision to leave our store may bring her romantic happiness eventually. Meanwhile for my Leo rising manager, the Sun in her 1st house is in a conflicting aspect with Uranus in her 10th house. First of all, it’s interesting that both of them have this aspect relating to their 10th house, the house of career and coworker. Although in the case of the Leo rising, this means that she might create drastic change in the way the store works as a result of being the manager at this store, due to her strong sense of self. Like I said before, the 3rd house is useful to understand this transit, but in this situation it is likely the change in communication that will be the catalyst.

I found this to be such an interesting astrological parallel!
